Cup not engraving all the way to the stainless steel

Hi there!
I wanted to see if I can have some help with my engraving. I’m using an ORTUR laser to engrave my yeti cups. I’ve engraved over 30 WHITE cups and everything turned out fine until I needed to engrave a black one. I don’t understand why it’s not working. I decreased the speed and set the power to a higher setting. I even tried several passes and the best I could accomplish was getting just a few parts of the design to actually engrave all the way and the rest of it is still black even after I clean it. Any recommendations?

1 - Check you focus for proper adjustment.
2 - Clean your lens
3 - Your variables that you control are SPEED, POWER and # of PASSES

Keep in mind that different colors and different tubmler sources will take different settings. I have found that YETI cups are extra thick on the paint, and that BLUE paint does not cut as well as Black. I have not tried white. My 10watt Ortur does really good at 3000mm/m and 35-50% power.

Interesting, I would have expected the white to be more difficult than the black… :face_with_spiral_eyes:

After I checked the focus, it worked great! Thank you so much
