Hello everyone,
I’m quite new to Lightroom and am currently working my way from problem to problem.
I am currently working on a project with very filigree structures. The problem is that if the laser cuts exactly ON the line, the structures are too thin to cut out. It would be better if the laser cut beside the line. However, I have not yet found a way to set this in Lightburn. Or whether this is possible at all.
Maybe Outline could be a solution but I have no clue how to use it correctly. All tests have ended up in the trash.
Use kerf offset. Double click the layer in the Layers window to open up the settings window, then apply a kerf offset. You can do a visual check in the preview window, which will show the cut line as opposed to the drawn line and give you some idea if you’ve applied enough or too much.
I don’t want to use Kerf Settings for this problem because it’s the wrong tool for the task. (the whole shapen is affected by the kerf setting)
I want to change the design, so that only the thinnest parts are affected.
For this I will use nodeeding and offset function.
Just modify the design to be thicker…when you are designing for a specific tool to cut a piece at a specific size, modifications need to be made. I am constantly arguing w my design department (wife) that magnifying glass details that dont show up to naked eye dont need to be included, and certain sized features need to be larger.
