Cut/Layer order not holding

I’m having an issue with the Cut Order not holding. As an example: The Cuts/Layers are in order.
I’ve just done text “TEST” set to a Fill Layer.
I’ve put a box around it as a Line Layer.

Cut/Layer Order: Fill is first, then Line.
Select, preview and when I press play, cuts are starting first.

While I’m very new to the laser machine world, I’ve not ever had an issue like this. Literally so new I have only learned Fill and Lines with one material type. Trying to set up laser levels in the material library freaks me out but I thought I at least had the basics under control!

I have the latest LightBurn software. Running a MW Laser J630 machine.

The way I got around it on for the last job I had was to do a light almost non-existent Line, do the print and come back and do the line again in the normal cut level. That’s not a good long term solution though.

Check your Optimization Settings;

Use ‘Order by Layer’ (it’s normally like this by default);

Thank you so very much! Problem solved. My Laser/LightBurn guru has been away so reaching out to the forum has certainly been beneficial.

Thanks!!!
