Cut lettering without losing unconnected pieces

To retain the inner portion of an ‘O’ (or ‘e’ for instance) when cutting, create a vertical rectangle (set width say 2mm) then move over the subject letter. Select both with the pointer tool. Select Tools, then Boolean Subtract. Hope this quick and easy solution is helpful to others

What you usually do in such cases is to use “stencil fonts”. Those circumvent the problem and have those bridges already integrated.

Agree that stencil fonts are an answer but it is VERY limited. I prefer to choose an appropriate font for each task. The method above is not difficult to perform on any font!
