Cut out of bounds issue, newbie to laser world, please help

I have an Algolaser DIY 10w kit, i have been experiencing the following issues:

  1. Homing incorrectly which causes the laser to hit the limit switch quite hard.
  2. Once the above seems to auto-resolve, i get the error message that my cut is out of bounds.
I dont know how to fix it. Please help

Is this a new to you machine? Has it ever worked properly for you?

What exactly is it doing? Does this machine have limit switches and if so, which corner? If you try to move it with the arrow keys in the move window, does left go left and up go up, etc.?

Probably has something to do with your origin and start from mode. Let’s get the homing addressed first.

Hi thanks for your responses. Sometimes im able to resolve it in the move window by homing and using the get position feature, but sometimes it just doesnt work at all

My limit switch is on the bottom left

When it goes to home, does it go to the bottom left?
Thew homing process is this:

  1. Trolley and gantry rapid move towards the switches.
  2. When the switches are hit, the machine will stop and reverse.
  3. The machine will pull off the switches slowly until the switches open.
  4. The machine will reverse back onto the switches very slowly until the switches close.
  5. The machine will reverse and pull off the switches slowly until they open.
  6. The controller establishes this as the Home position.

Is this what your machine does?

Hi Tim! I figured it out…my cut really was out of bounds because u wasnt positioning the laser correctly. I watched the lightburn explanation video on youtube and i was able to understand and apply what i learned.

Thanks so much for trying to help
