Cut Settings Variable mode Border gaps at line ends

I have a Genmitsu L8 40w laser. I have run several projects and lots of Material tests as I explore different materials. On thinner materials (20mil cardstock and laserboard) I notice the Border on the built in Material test has gaps at the end if I use Variable Power Mode (Constant Power Mode unchecked). If I run Constant power mode then the ends are overburned. With Variable they are underburned (fade to blank at end of each line). The Border cut settings are
speed 5000mm/min
power 30%
Constant Power Mode unchecked
Mode Line
I have checked the S value in Machine vs Device settings and both are 1000.
I don’t see any other parameters that define the “rate” of the Variable Power Mode as it appears to be a little to much. As in its too low for what it assumes the slower start up speed is. I see if FILL mode you could overscan at a higher percentage but I don’t see any settings for Line Mode.
Thanks for any suggestions!

Maybe you have to find your laser scanning offset.
