Cut shapes question

I’m running Lightburn 1.3.01 under Windows 10. I’m trying to cut a polygon apart using Cut Shapes. When I use the tool, I can remove part of the lines that defines the polygon - at this point the GUI shows separate lines, but when I try to select one of them all of the original polygon is selected. What am I doing wrong?

None of these lines are able to be selected individually.

Perhaps they’re grouped. Try ungrouping first.
