Cut shapes tool not working

Hi all
I am running Lburn 1.7.06 and trying my hardest to use the Cut shaps tool.
I have watched tutorials on it, read articles about it , but the Cut shapes will not Aluminat on the tool bar. Please tell me were i am going wrong

You have to create the cut shape.
As @jimNM said post an example of your issue.

Every move with the laser powered “on” can be a “cut” or and “engrave” operation, depending on the power and speed settings.

First i selected the red frame then selected the blue cutting frame. go to tools menu to select cut shapes but its light gray not black Hope i have made it a bit clearer and thanks for any contrabution

You only have the blue selected. You must have both items selected. Select red then hold Shift & select blue. You need to have handles around the entire shape.
