Cut something from outline

Hi all,

I tried to re-create something I saw online. I basically gathered all the free files I need and designed away. One issue I am having is that it is a 2 layer design and I basically designed the top layer. Then used “Versatzformen” (ALT+O) (sorry I don’t know how it is called in english, it’s the icon below the ruler on the left side of the toolbar) with 0,00 to create the outer shell for the first layer. Now I have the issue that on 2 spots it is not cutting the pieces out, since they are enclosed via the forms…

Does anyone have a suggestion how can I cut those two pieces out, from the outline form?

The word you lack is OUTLINE. There is a selection under the outline menu to ignore inside shape. Uncheck that tab and you should have what you need

You can see if they are closed Shapes and then give them an offset.

Sadly, when I uncheck it, I get basically an exact copy of the original file:

The result I am looking for is something similar to this:

So I can paint the back and layer the front up top.

I think I got it now

I did ungroup everything, made two copies of the 2 shapes that did not cut out, regrouped everything, then did the outline thing and pieced the 2 pieces back in, then moved the non outline shape away.

So it basically looked like this:

Set the background layer to FILL rather than LINE.

EDIT - Sorry, now I see what you want to do. You need to UNGROUP the object as far as you can. Click on the single person outline button.

Then click away from the object, then carefully select the objects that you don’t want and delete it.

Then before moving anything, I would re-group all the parts of the object back into a single unit by clicking the three person button

Maybe I don’t understand, but it looks like you would just select the outer line then use shift and select the other parts you want to cut and put them on the same layer.

It looks like you have duplicate overlapping shapes which you likely don’t want.
