When I select the ‘square’ option then put text inside, I only get one cut/layer line, so it all gets cut out or burned. I want to make and cut patches without cutting the Lester’s out inside of it
- Select text
- Assign text onto a different layer by selecting one of the colored squares at the bottom of the screen
- Set appropriate Cut Settings for the newly assigned layer in Cuts / Layers window
Thank you so much! That’s exactly what I needed!
Is there a better way to cut the outside line out, than making 10 passes?
This very much depends on your machine and material.
Make sure your lens is well focused and that it’s clean. Outside of that run a material test to determine the best settings for what you want to achieve. Laser Tools → Material test.
Thank you. I’ll try that
Thank you @berainlb for telling me how to get to the material test screen! I thought I needed to find settings for specific materials, but when I ran the materials test I realized that’s what I had needed to do in the first place. After I did that I fiddled with the settings that were closest to what I wanted and after a few trial runs I got exactly the results I wanted.Thank you for your help and patience with this old newbie!!!
