using xtool s1 40w laser, running LB 2.0.04. problem when cutting or engraving the laser stop about half way thru the job. it has happened about 6 times. this has happening for about 2 weeks. anyone help me.
That’s typically due to USB communication problems:
The Console window will probably show the controller resets every time the job stops.
Replacing the USB cable with a known-good one is a good first first step. Paying enough for a cable with ferrite cores on both ends seems to get enough QC to improve the internal wiring, if you buy it from a known-good seller rather than a random Amazon / eBay / Ali-whatever source.
A cautionary tale about other solutions:
Possibilities:
- Laser overheating
- USB communications issue
- Possible USB energy saver timeout
Details:
- Lower the power and speed to see if it will complete the job.
- Replace the USB cable with a quality shielded one that has a noise suppressor (ferrite) on it. Reseat the USB connectors on both ends. Look for a RFI (electrical interference signal) that was related to 2 weeks ago.
