I have a strange one here. I have 2 lasers a stock K40 and a Sculpfun S9. I have both set up in Lightburn. If I open a cutting file it displays normally in the GRBL setup
No. This is due to the two machines working in different machine Origins as set in Device Settings.
Starting with version 1.3 LightBurn will auto-orient the design to the laser selected when you open or import a .lbrn file. However, if you dynamically change the selected laser this will not occur and the origin change will result in the design being reoriented. In that case either manually reorient or save before changing lasers and reopen after.
Ah. That makes perfect sense. It was just a bit annoying as I don’t always know which machine I’ll use to cut or engrave. So it starts by default in GRBL.
Thanks for the prompt reply.
I have the same issue, Its annoying but flipping when beginning work is an easy enough fix. The worse problem if if i drag select the design and copy or move it anywhere if the design contains any text it will flip it back again, not the whole image just the text! What the hell is happening? If i have a map with lots of text and lots of lines it basically renders the file useless because even when I
No. If I start Lightburn with GRBL and open the file it is in the correct orientation. If I start Lightburn with K40 selected and open the file it is also in the correct orientation. It’s only if I open the file and then switch machine it happens. Hopefully that makes sense.
This is working as designed. If you select a machine with a different orientation AFTER you have opened a file, it will flip the file. The solution is to select the machine that you want to work with, THEN open the file so it will be oriented correctly. This has been confirmed by OZ numerous times.
