Hello,
I am trying to cut a design from 3mm plywood in lightburn. line setting, In focus at 6 mm and settings at 20 Speed, 80 power and 20, 30, and 80 min power, full air and cut through selected. The issue I am having is that it scores with a wide line and does not cut through . I’ve tried to defocus at 10 mm and get the same results. I have tried different designs to see if they do the same and they do. The day before I did several cuts and it worked fine. I have uninstalled and reinstalled lightburn, but that didn’t solve my issue. I have gone on the internet to research the issue and did not find an answer. Anyone have any idea why this is happening all of a sudden?
I’d suspect an optical issue, such as an alignment issue, dirty lens or mirror(s).
This is a dc excited glass tube model (not RF)?
The wide line says it’s not in focus, but it could be any of the above.
I’d ensure all lenses/mirrors are clean.
I think I cut this type of material at about 20mm/s@60% and I have a 40W tube. I’d expect you to cut this much more easily and quicker.
Keep the power down for testing around 20%, until you figure it out. All more power will do is damage something.
