Cutting out a blank section to not be engraved

I have an image ‘traced’ in LightBurn. I would like to cut a shape out of that image so it doesn’t engrave that area (to preserve a logo) on the piece being engraved. I’ve watched several videos after searching on the subject but none of them address this. Is there a way to cut out a section of a traced image? This is sort of what I am after (done in photoshop). I need to be able to do it in Lightburn so I can adjust the cutout to fit over the logo. Thank you!

Put the Logo where you want it. Right click on your image> trace image. Make sure you get a good trace of the outline, don’t worry about anything in the interior of the image. You only need the outline. Make sure delete original image is NOT checked and select Clear Boundary. Now you can do an offset of the tracing large enough to give separation. Select Outer shapes only and Delete original objects. Put the offset on the same layer as your background and you should have a hole for your image.

If you want to create a hole of a certain shape like in your image above use Boolean tools. Make sure your background is grouped, place the rectangle where you want it. Select the background then shift select the rectangle and use Subtract A-B.
