Cutting out an image, inside and out. Not a raster

How can I cut out an image inside and out like the one attached excluding the thread? Not a raster image. I am using an ATOMSTACK A5 PRO 50W Laser Engraving Machine with GRBL driver and LightBurn software.

It’s not obvious from your description of the image what you’re expecting the final output to be. What areas specifically are you saying would be cut?

Is the image you included a raster image or a vector graphic?

Might want to post the .lbrn2 file for us to examine. If that’s not a problem…

That thread and loop above the arm is going to be problematic, as will most of the thread. If the background has to be air, you’ll have very fine (thin) portions that are barely supported (between the spool, the two eyelets and the needle) and on portion completely unsupported.

You’ll have to merge the drive wheel(?) on the right side, as there is air in two locations of the drawing. The spool also has slices of air, which would have to be artistically combined.

If a background material is permitted, all the better.

Symaskine.lbrn2 (200.1 KB)

…anything in this direction?

Missed a spot, I think, where the needle comes out…

Yep, I should see if you were awake  … and some work should also be left for Richard

sorry @bernd.dk , but you got a new version of LB? you’re a beta tester?
cause i’ve got the 1.0.06 and when i open your file a popup tells me that the file is done with a newer version, the 1.1.00
sorry for the OT

Yes, I’m a beta tester, but that should not affect the file itself. Are you having problems with my file?

Use the trace function in LightBurn to trace the artwork into vectors, and then it can be cut.

Not particulary, only tells me that the file can be corrupted, but i open it and seems regular.

Thank you! I actually found this tool while exploring last night. This video helps me even more. I often use corel draw as well.
