Cutting thin steel

So I am cutting thin steel and having issues with the metal getting hot and distorting up affecting the cutting .We have a a lot of small pieces nested on the stock and I think that if we could skip every other part then come back and cut out the parts in between so we could more evenly distribute the heat and effectively reduce the distortion .

Is there a function in Lightburn that will automatically carry out a function like this or should i just program multiple layers so that it creates this type of skip function ?

Check out the optimization settings in Laser window. There are various functions there that should allow you setup this behavior.

An obvious approach that comes to mind is to group alternating parts and then do an “Order by group” in Optimization Settings.

yes that worked exactly like i was thinking ! Thank You . now off to see if that helps the cut.
