Is it possible to cut thru woods with J Tech 7W diod laser ?
If so what settings is to use ?
there is no specific settings… you have to try by yourself different speeds and powers, but… what kind of woods you are intended to cut?
both plywood and normal wood
if is a real 7W optical output you don’t have problems on cut 3mm plywood in 4 or 5 passes, the only thing really needed in cut with a diode is air assit
The wood type will make a difference in the settings. You have to do some testing with power and speed and number of pass settings.
Use air assist.
I put my projects that will require cutting on top of a cookie cooling rack with a painted black 20" square of aluminum plate underneath to keep from burning my table.
I have the Nasum A5 laser and it is supposed to be 5.5 watts output.
On 3mm baltic birch I can cut through with 1 pass
Setting that cuts fine for me are, 95% power and 125 speed
is the speed you talk about in or mm ?
125mm/minute
It is very dependent on the type of wood and can vary from batch to batch.
My 1 pass cut is probably an anomaly, this is cutting from a sheet 5’ X 5’ 3 ply 3mm baltic birch.
I notice most other 3mm thick woods it takes 2 to 3 passes.
The mahogany I have cuts through on 1 pass also.
