I have a very odd issue. Commarker Omni 1 UV 5W and Lightburn (obviously). Today I went to go etch some flat glass with text only. The edges kinda curled up at the top and down at the bottom. The last project I did was a glass tumbler and I used cylinder correction. So I thought I had left that setting on. Nope. It appears that it is stuck on. My frame looks like a box that has been squished down a bit as it bulges on the sides. I closed the file, tried a new file, shut lightburn, restarted my computer, deleted the preference files (mistake - had to reload my laser and all my material libraries), tried and old file (it does it on that one too). I’m at a loss. Is there some setting somewhere that I inadvertently toggled on? About to chuck my computer…
Hello, and welcome to the forum!
If the Field section in your Device Settings are off, it would explain, what you are describing.
Specifically, the “Bulge” and “Trapezoid” values in this example here:
With these values, you adjust the distortion from your lens.
Has this worked better previously? - Your settings might have changed, and you can try restoring from a Prefs Backup
If it was like this from the beginning, search the USB drive that came with your laser for a .cor file. This would be a “lens correction file”, which you can load in the Device Settings:
If you don’t have this file, you’ll need to manually Calibrate your Galvo lens.
So this WAS the issue, I did two galvo lens calibrates and the second time, it corrected it! It’s so odd that it just happened out of nowhere, or rather after I used cylinder correction and I never had an issue with it prior to that. It APPEARS to be fixed! Thanks so much for your help!
