D1 Pro new infra red 1064 nm not working in Lightburn

New user here. Using Lightburn with regular blue laser that came with D1 Pro and have had some good testing with that but when I switch out to infra red laser it frames and will run but it looks like laser shuts off or just isn’t firing. Can anyone help out a rookie?

When you get to IR or even worse UV the focus point is extremely critical. The shorter the lens the more critical the focus point.

The infrared laser on the XTool is invisible to our sight, so goggles are absolutely required. The laser you DO see is a secondary red laser for alignment that turns off when the IR laser is actually running.

Also the depth of focus is really small. With the blue diode you get about 4-6mm DoF that the laser works in, wheras the IR only gives you aboue 1mm DoF. More info can be found here. If you have problems marking items using the focus arm, it may be off a little, and you’ll have to do a ramp test to determine your proper focal length and compensate by either cutting down the arm, or placing a spacer, whichever direction it’s off by.

I’ve never had to do a ramp test, so hopefully someone who has can chime in on the proper method.
