I have a new JPT M7 MOPA 60W running a BJJCZ LmcV4U board and initially the device connected fine until I applied the license to Lightburn. Now I am getting an “Unrecognized board signature error : 0000809c2102602” and the laser status goes from framing to disconnected repeatedly. I have tried running Lightburn on my Mac running High Sierra and 2 PCs running Windows 10 Pro and Windows 11. I have tried uninstalling the driver and software, reinstalling both, installing the driver with Zadig to no avail. The device manager shows the device installed and working properly. Lightburn finds the laser, but then errors out.
On rare occasions the settings in the lbprefs file get misplaced.
On any of your computers that had a reliable connection, check the hard drive for an lbprefs file. The file names correspond with calendar dates so you can select one from when it was working for you.
You can import the lbprefs file into LightBurn by clicking ‘File’ then ‘Preferences’ then ‘Import Prefs’ and pull that file in.
If you’re interested, I’d love to look at one from ‘before’ and ‘after’ the license to see if I can spot an obvious difference. You’re welcome to drag the files into this reply box as you’re typing.
Honestly, If I can find this and catch it i could stop this for the couple of dozen or so people that this seems to catch in a year.
I have tried the import of working lbprefs, but to no avail. I have tried different usb cables and have now ordered a new controller board. When the device did work, I noted that it said USB-Lite and for some reason that is now gone. I have uninstalled USD drivers and reinstalled using Zadig 2.9. I have reinstalled lightburn. Nothing working.
Some more information. Below is the board (BJJCZ model FBLI-B-LV4). It will load the ZADig driver WinUSB without any problem and shows up in the device manager in the appropriate spot. Lightburn will even find it on search for device. The device worked for half a day sporadically and then without changing anything, just stopped working again. I am at a complete loss for what the hell is going on. All the connections are tight and the cables are good. HELP!!!
I read another post about similar problems with the same laser controller board (BJJCZ FBLI-B-LV4). They reported that using the JCZAllinOne drivers helped their problem, so I tried the JCZAllinOne driver install, but lightburn could not find Laser. So then I used ZADig 2.9 to install winUSB driver and lightburn was able to connect to the device. Again, the device reported using USB-lite like before. I was able to engrave 1.5 sides of a brass coin when it errored out and disconnected. I have not been able to reconnect since. The same problem all over again. What the hell.
I am beyond frustrated. The coins I am creating are a memorial token for the family a dear friend who tragically died and they are time sensitive to get done, Can someone help me figure this out. Is this a driver issue? A controller board issue? Or do I have a $4500 boat anchor on my hands?
Update. I uninstalled the device driver and reinstalled the driver using ZADig and was able to use the laser for a 2 coin run before it errored and disconnected again. I am not sure why the driver stopped working versus a controller board issue.
