Dew point + unheated shop + high humidity

Hello Forum!

Went out to the shop tonight to run a quick 30 minute project and took a glance at my humidity/temp gauge. Realized if I run my chiller I’ll swamp my machine with condensation. I know this because I’ve done it in the past(which is why I have the gauge). Usually I can just set my chiller a couple degrees warmer (I typically run between 19-21C)., but because it’s already somewhat cold that plan would have no effect. I’m sure I’m not the only laser person that has run into this, so what do others do? Inline heater? I’m running a CW-5000 chiller on a slightly modded Chinese blue and white 50 watt.

Thanks,

Dan

For humidity, you want an outside source that heats / dries the air. Most guys use a series of light bulbs. Russ uses a pair of 50W mini halogen under his tube and another pair under his water tank in the winter. Keeps the condensation off the tube as well as the other parts of the machine.
