My LB crashed this Am and I heard others have. What do I do know?

Come to think of it, LightBurn has never crashed, ever, on anything I’ve ever asked it do.
If it fails repeatedly, enable the debugging log and send the file to support@lightburnsoftware.com for analysis.

Same here on 3 different computers and 3 different lasers.
I was my first time . On one of the drop downs, LB said it had crashed. In the process of reinstalling. What a nightmare
I think many have experienced similar things in their beginnings, and of course some have tried to see LightBurn crash. But it is typically in connection with the implementation of new features or in beta versions of LB, and very rarely during normal operation.
You mention that it happened to you during a reinstallation, can you describe more precisely how your procedure was/is?
Some users uninstall the old version before installing a new one and it is not necessary. I can upgrade and downgrade between LB versions as I want, by only installing the desired version, the rest is handled by LightBurn.
There is an option to pull a log out of your machine after a crash has occurred, the developers from LB would very much like to have it. As they always write, they are sorry and LB should not crash, hence the interest in your error log. You can send it directly to LB customer service (support@lightburnsoftware.com) and they will thank you and help you.

Friday morning I noticed that my PC was running very slowly. I decided to reboot and see it that would fix the problem. Rebooting fixed the problem but when i went back to using LB it had crashed, One of the dropdowns LB said ut had crashed.
I am going thru the process of reinstalling it and problems have occurred. I am unable on the screen to change the line to fill of offset fill, Only on the screen. When I change to fill mode and do a preview it show up there that it is in fill mode but on the pc screen it is still in line mode. A bunch of the settings had to be redone and some of the saved info was gone. Still missing the V & H lines showing me the center of the grid.
Please understand that I am pretty much computer liberate. How would I go about getting the log and sending it to LB?

But your description probably suggests more to some windows problems you have. But anyway LB people will be able to see it probably in your logfile.

Ok, now that I have worked thru some of the problems a new one appeared. Up to now the problems had to do with settings and design. Went to laser and a new one appeared. My frame size is set at 100 x 100 mm. When I sent that to the laser it measures 113 x113
Could this be a lens calibration issue?
No,… it’s probably related to your machine setup.
Have you been able to run with your machine before without any problems?
What kind of a laser you have? Do you have the right GRBL version?
I just spent an hour doing a lens correction and a scaling. 1 step at a time.
Still trying to figure why I cannot show that the fonts have gone from line mode to fill mode on my screen but when I preview it shows that we are in fill mode.

Thank you Tim. When LB crashed it sure mess things up. Just finished to the 1st project since the crash. Preview said 25 m, actual time 7 mi. Something else to work on
Did you load a preferences file from before the issue? That will undo a lot of ailments.
If your preview time is still off after prefs file, go to Device Settings, Additional Settings, Read from controller. Tht should update your preview with actual speeds available on your machine.
my LB does not have a read from controller in that section
Your profile shows OLM as your laser, but I just noticed in post 16 that you’re working with a Commarker UV. I know the ability to update that info is not working on the forum right now. so that would have been good info in your first post.
Anyway, I know nothing about those machines, so can’t help with preview settings. I would like to have one though.

Got LB back and running with help from Steve in Canada.
Last night as I was moving my mouse up to preview my screen faded to a light white and than a box showed up saying that LB had crashed. Closed and reopened LB and LB was ok.
