Dimension or Axis Problem

hello I’m using an Algolaser 40w diode laser and 1.7.08 of LB.
when I try to laser circle or rectangulars or texts I have some problems with the dimensions. there are some photos here. I don’t know what to do with that.

u

as you see my rectangles are not closed from the right-bottom.
circles are like ellipses, texts are disaster.
normally there is no space between the rectangles on the lbrn file but there are spaces on output.

thanks

This is almost certainly a mechanical problem. There are many such topics on this forum so a search will get you many results.

In short, do a full mechanical review paying particular attention to grub screw retention on pinion gears and belt tension. Based on your photos I’d say it’s most likely you have a loose pinion gear on the Y-axis.

hello again, I’ve check the subject about what you said on the forum. I made some important changes on belts. but there is only one problem now : when I make a rectangle x:30 y:30mm, the result is x:30 y:29mm. so circles and rectangles have kind of weird looking. what can I do now?

Can you provide an example photo? There are potentially several reasons for dimension accuracy issues. You may still have a mechanical issue, possibly overtight belts. Are you certain that you’ve solved the issue of unclosed circles? I would suspect you’re still losing motion on the Y-axis and haven’t eliminated all backlash.

If you have sorted out all mechanical issues then you may have an issue with axis calibration. I don’t see this as likely given the amount of drift and since most modern machines come fairly well calibrated from factory… at least not likely to have a 3% miscalibration.

If this does end up being a calibration issue you can resolve this through LightBurn using Edit->Machine Settings->Axis Calibration.
