Docking Feature Padding Behavior Confirmation

I’ve been experimenting with the new Docking features in 1.2.00. I notice that padding behaves as I would expect when distances between objects is larger than the specified padding value. Meaning that all spaces between objects and outside objects conforms to the smaller padding value.

However, when the padding value is larger than the current space between objects, distances between objects is not increased while distance around objects does respect the padding value.

Is this the expected behavior?

Yes. We do nothing to move objects further apart, only push them closer together.
