We’ve bought a used 2013 Gravograph LS100 (now Gravotech I believe). Am getting started with Inkscape but would like to use Lightburn but am wondering if it’s compatible. Saw some older threads say it wasn’t yet.
I looked at the site and they run proprietary software on their machines. I doubt it’s even on the radar…
Many people replace the controller and use Lightburn… That may be an option for you.
Good luck
Back in the day… 15 plus years ago, I worked with a Gravograph/Gravotech laser while I did some part-time work in an engraving shop. It was mostly a very reliable machine, except for other operators who were impatient and maxed out power and speed, while forgetting to use the air-assist. I can’t count the number of $100 Plus lenses that they ruined.
From my experience with Gravograph machines, I expect that they are locked in to proprietary software, and trying to use GCODE will be a frustrating and likely futile effort. However… the one great thing about the Gravograph lasers was that you could run CorelDraw files directly. You just uploaded it to the machine, located your start-point, and hit the go-button. The only problem, of course, is that CorelDraw has become terribly expensive, and old versions (perfectly adequate for making laser designs) will not work on Windows 10 or 11. If you have an old Windows XP machine that you can use, those older CorelDraw (and the other apps that came with it) will work just fine to create laser artwork.
Gravograph machines use a proprietary control and as such, are not supported by LightBurn. We would need time, demand, and access to one of these machines for an extended period of time to do so - it’s not currently on our roadmap.
Thanks for the help! The machine does print with Inkscape tho so maybe we can learn that
