Hello everyone,
I have built my own custom machine that functions similarly to a CO₂ laser system.
Until now I have been using a Mach3 controller, but I have realized that it is too unstable and unreliable for my needs.
This is the workflow I need:
- Before cutting, the Z-axis is at a safe height.
- When I press Start, the head moves down to the working height and cuts the first part.
- When the cut is finished, the head moves up to the safe height and travels to the next part.
- When it reaches the next part, the head moves down again to the working height and cuts the second part.
- After the second part is finished, the head moves up to the safe height and finally returns to the machine’s home position.
(Cut Part → Z Up → Move → Z Down → Cut Next Part → Z Up → Return Home)
I want to replace Mach3 with a Ruida controller, but I need to know if any Ruida controller supports this full automatic Z-axis workflow.
I currently own two CO₂ laser machines with Ruida RDC6442S-B (EC) controllers.
Is it possible to achieve this workflow with this model?
If not, which Ruida controller model supports this Z Up/Down movement between shapes during a job?
Any help or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
