Is this implemented?
I have newest Lightburn and updated my Blackbox X4 to 1.1h with door safety feature. When door is open, message comes to console, but Pause is not changing to Resume.
If I will close the door in less then couple of (tens?) seconds, it is enough to click Pause, then Resume and LB continues work.
If I will wait couple of minutes with doors open, it’s nor working anymore - have to stop/start the job.
Not a big deal as “doors” are actually wires controlling if laser is still on its magnetic holder, so if they are “open” then usually some bigger mess is done because of bad quality thin plywood bending
I experienced this similar. The way it worked for me was that you need to click on pause soon after the event triggered. Then you can leave LightBurn waiting as long as you want. So: open the door - click on pause, then do whatever is needed and after shutting the door, click on resume.
At least that’s what I remember. I didn’t use that feature for a long time since this was annoying I disabled the door contact.
As I wrote, those are not actuall “doors” in my build. This is verification that laser head is still in place. I’m leaving machine for hours to work alone, just taking a look once per some minutes remotely through camera.
If it crashes I may respond after quite many minutes - so it would be nice to have this “auto-pause” implemented, to resume work easy.
Unless you can get to the laser in seconds, in case of a fire, this is very risky operating. Of course, you could add a Halon fire suppression system to the laser cabinet. Expensive, but cheaper than having your building burn down.
