Hello, When I engrave pictures it does them with a bunch of dots instead of lines. the link is the example is this normal? https://drive.google.com/file/d/18Qg5xK8bZkN_67LOEOdOQiYUU5T_CMyR/view?usp=sharing
I am new at this so what is a layer? You said it depends on the layer I choose.
A layer is the electronic “sheet of paper” your image is on, you can have many layers on top of each other with different properties and content, some for shapes or text, etc.
All layers have properties including picture layers.
These are the properties I am referring to. For example line spacing or type of image rendering.
I think the LightBurn documentation describes it very well, give it a try.
I dont know what I did all of the previews are in negative mode and I cant figure out how to get it back to normal, I turned it on once and now it wont turn off,
I started a new project and still the preview is in negative mode
In the preview window uncheck invert
Wow thank you so much I was getting very frustrated
Yeah I read all the documents and just watch 3 videos and I still cant get my picture to look like yours I don’t know what I’m doing wrong, I can not get my pictures to look like yours in your screenshot. I only have 1 layer and I’ve spent 10hrs trying to figure this out, I just need some help
Images are the most challenging thing you can do with a laser. Not only does the material you are burning make a difference, but the image itself is also a factor.
- Image modes, including pass-thru.
- Image brightness, contrast, gamma, and color.
- Material you are burning.
- Whether or not the material has a coating, like paint.
As you can see, there are a lot of variables. Expect a lot of testing and a fair share of just-not-rights during your work.
If you accept all this, and take good notes while testing, you will find it less exasperating to work with images Here is a video that gets suggested a lot:
