I’m going to say normal variation of the plywood. Glue packets, patches, and other hard spots prevent the normal power from penetrating. Especially if you normally run “just enough” for power and speed.
Nope. In my experience this is a speed thing. Running too fast for the current material, or power setting. If you slow things down a bit, this will improve dramatically. There is an interesting video (by Russ Sadler) that shows exactly this… I’ll try to find it.
