Double cut / saving time

Hey everyone!
So, we design something, and move all the pieces together to save materials…

how do we make it so overlapping lines dont get cut/engraved twice?

ill add a pic, of a double sided guitar strap. the purple line is the cut line, and the laser cuts it once for each strap… and the part that overlaps, it cuts twice (circled badly in red).

I think theres a method, reading some forum posts, someone mentioned to do it… but didnt mention how…

Thanks folks!

In the ‘Optimization Settings’ window, turn on ‘Delete Overlapping Lines’

you rock buddy!

I’ve a sneaking suspicion this won’t work, as the notes suggest lines need to fully overlap for the removal tool to work.

Indeed, for those non-identical lines you need to manually delete the duplicates. Go into Edit Nodes mode, select the shape with the shorter line, point to the line and press “d”.

If one line is fully overlapped by another, it’ll be removed. If they are offset, it won’t.

Great explanation! So in the OP’s example, we would need to know what is happening at the other end of the line.
