Double image and text when burning

Hi everyone

I’m now up and running however, I’ve noticed that it seems to be burning a double image/text. I’m running a MacBook Pro with a FoxAlien Masutra Pro and 40w FoxAlien laser.

Can anyone help please?

Pictures of the results you’re getting along with screenshots(not phone pics) of your Lightburn screen and settings are worth a thousand wrong guesses.

Of course, my apologies. Didn’t see there was a way of adding photos at first.
So, here you are.

You have a mechanical problem. A loose belt or pulley is not allowing your machine to maintain its reference point for the X axis.

Many things can cause the results you see.

My preference is to change black and white images into vector graphics (object) rather than images.

Thank you, I will contact FoxAlien as it’s a brand new machine.
With regards to changing an image into vector graphics, how do I do that? Is it simple?

Cheers

Right click on image.

Select TRACE and follow screen prompt. Object (vector) is often times much easier to get good results from vs. images. There are a multitude of examples and videos available.

I am away from my laser at the moment, otherwise I could give you a visual guide.

Thusly:

That depends very much on the image, because all Trace does is lay curves along intensity contours. A low-contrast image will become gibberish, a contrasty image will produce crisp lines.

Your mileage will definitely vary.

I agree with all the other responses that you have play in your machine. The most common and easiest to miss is loose set screws on the motor pulley to shaft connection. This allows the puley to slip when changing directions,

Thanks everyone. Sent an email yesterday to FA and they replied almost instantly with a how to video, which involved me tightening up the belt. I’ve done that, run a test piece through and all is good in the world. Thank you everyone for your help, really appreciated, great forum.
