I’m running version 1.7.08
I did a flood fill with a cross hatch / line after fill / 2 passes.
Speed 3000/33% power, Ortur 20 w diode laser
I’m getting double lines
This has happened before due to the piece moving while the laser was operating but that’s not the case this time.
From our documentation on flood fill:
Flood Fill is very sensitive to machine tuning and backlash, and can cause gaps in your engraving if the design is too complex and/or your machine is not set up optimally. Use it sparingly, and use Preview to see how the option will engrave your design, so you aren’t surprised by the path it takes.
Does the shift occur when you use regular fill?
If the Preview window shows the layers aligned correctly, this is most likely a mechanical issue.
Thanks for the reply.
The preview is perfect so there must be movement some where, again!
This guide is an excellent resource for ruling out mechanical issues:
Does the shift occur when you use regular fill instead of flood fill?
Thanks for the reply and help.
Wow,that site is loaded with very helpful information!
I found my problem!
A friend shares our small shop with me and apparently he needed more height on the laser for a project he did. He put the laser up on 1/2" Baltic Birch plywood blocks so the frame was not secured down like it was supposed to be. I had the laser speed at 3000 and some of the moves are fairly “jerky” and I’m almost positive that was my problem and caused the double lines. I haven’t had time to check things out yet buy will soon.
Thanks again for your help.
