Is it safe to say that lasers work in Line Interval (LPI) not DPI?
Is DPI linked to Line Interval in LightBurn to give people something familiar to relate to?
Yes, they are mathematically related, you can enter either one in it’s field.
If your interval is 0.10mm then the dpi is 254, since there are 25.4mm in an inch.
They are used synonymous, except, Lightburn uses an interval in mm and a dpi in inches.
Make sense?
I guess I’m wondering why both are listed if they are linked together?
Especially since DPI is more of a print specification?
(maybe too much time on my hands and over-thinking?)
You’re doing a scan, it has a 0 angle.
Some people relate better to one than the other… Few people talk about interval, just dpi.
There is a button for inches or mm on the screen… I click it because I know the object is a certain dimension in inches or I enter it with an inch identifier and let Lightburn convert it.
Doesn’t matter if inch or mm, distance is distance, but you have to know which metric you’re using.
