It appears as if LB will not retain different steps per rotation values for chuck vs roller rotary. We are a makerspace with multiple users and so wanted to make things as easy as possible to avoid people overwriting settings so created a “new” machine by duplicating the existing settings for the machine and called it “chuck rotary” with the thought that those users specifically using the chuck rotary could select it. It appears though that when changing selecting chuck and changing the SPR it is retained for both “machines” because when I close out LB and reopen to the default (other) machine the settings are changed there too. I would have thought that creating a new machine would have also created a new settings file specific for that machine. Is that not the case or is there a step I might have missed? Appreciate any help.
Is this for the OMTECH or a different Laser.
If it’s for the OMTECH it probably has a Ruida controller. It’s important to Note the power-cycle step when changing the settings.
See ‘Note’ at the bottom of the page.
Some manufacturers of retail level hobby diode lasers Lock-out machine setting changes to avoid the challenges offered by custom settings. The work-around is different firmware.
