Here is a photo of the setup I use to set the axis calibration.
Not lab quality but gets me to the closest 100th of a millimeter.
The digital calibrator is available on the internet in different lengths.
I use one that will measure 200mm.
Glued a wood plug on the top of the slider to engage the laser head.
Use duct tape to secure it to the cutting board.
Easy and cheap way to accurately measure travel distance and adjust you axis calibration.
