I imported an svg image. I am wanting to cut out the image. The lines apparently are too thick and the software made the thick lines into two parallel lines with gap between. I am able to select and delete either the inside or outside line to leave just the one line to cut. However, there are places where the import didn‘t fully connect the lines and I want to use the pen to draw sides to connect them so I can delete inside or outside. I can draw lines to connect. Do I then use “weld” ? but can‘t “weld” my lines with the existing ones. Also can I then erase part to complete the edit. ?
A lot of these standard files have many extensions and addition that are not always supported across all application… Don’t know if that’s true here, but I’ve seen very similar results from both svg and dxf file.
If you can just select it and delete it, that is the most simple.
The double probably come from the svg, not lightburn… but I don’t know what it does at a low level… these routines have been pretty well beaten up by the time they get released, so a software problem, although possible, is not very probable.
Might want to indicate what software generated the svg or it’s origin…
I think you should check out the node editing ability of Lightburn… it’s a little tricky, but is well worth the effort.
Good luck.
Thanks. I looked at the Edit Node and can’t see where it might allow me to edit lines in the image. I have been able to get into the jpg file and see where the lines are rather thin in places and then go in and draw over them. Then import the jpg and trace it. I can then ungroup and delete one of the two lines for each figure.
I use node edit when I get something generated and it has overlapping loops that shouldn’t be there.
I node edit can can connect what I want and remove the extra loops or segments.
I actually use it quite frequently…
I would think there would be an easier work flow… but I’m glad you figured it out.
Take care
