This problem has only recently started laser moves as it should but does not cut or engrave. We have tried new controller & replacement laser and even tried a different PC. Stiil the same issue on both?
error:7
EEPROM read failed. Reset and restored to default values.

Save your GRBL settings in a safe location.
Check if your boadr has a Uno or a Nano.
Try: install LaserGRBL and reflash the firmware
Select firmware to v1.1h original.

Check your GRBL settings change per the values of your first post (your $$ backup on the forum ) and report back.

Also you could try settings from when laser worked by loading a prefs backup file.
