Engrave multiple dog tags

Hi

I have job for 450 dog tags.
Will do 50 pcs when engraving.
That number fits perfect with how many I shall engrave to each car.

What is the best and fastest way to add the logo and the registration number for 50 tags?
Logo and number one each side.

Do i ungroup the 50 squares, paste 50 logos, then center one by one with the Align center tool?
This takes very long time.
Or do i make a square with the logo in it, and then use array tool to make 50 as shown in the picture? But then i think i will have problem with aligning it to the template.

I hope I’m missing something, because aligning one and one takes to much time.

Thanks in advance

A mixture of it. Do not design the extra squares as in the second approach. Just design the first tag/logo within the first square and center/align it. Then use the array tool to repeat it, since the distance for all squares is equal, all of them will stay centered.

Perhaps you can use Variable Text set up to produce serial numbers:

If the logo is the same graphic for each tag, then you just put it in position and use the Grid Array tool to produce all the other tags, with the variable text incrementing the registration number for each one.

Then @misken has it:

  • Lay out one tag exactly as you like it
  • Use Grid Array to duplicate it into a 5Ă—10 layout
  • Fire The Laser!

I highly recommend using this video as a starting point for Variable text!

I would opt to use the “variable text” feature.
It may be a bit confusing at first but it makes the work much easier.
