Engraving a sign longer than my laser bed

hi guys & Girls
i need some help on setting up a project which is longer than my laser bed. just wondering what would be the best and easiest way to set this in lightburn and using my passthrough doors on my laser.

any help would be greatly appreciated

thanks
Gary

thanks for the video i have watched that but i don’t want to cut it i just want to engrave it so is there not an easier way to just feed it through

If your project is split up into multiple files, whether it’s engraving or cutting, using the print and cut feature to align multiple projects is the way to go. There is no conveyor system that I know of that could feed your material through your laser and engrave your material at the same time.

thanks for the reply is there no way of just doing a section at a time and moving the wood up as you go and moving the design in the software is what i mean. do i have to still break it into sections as i dont want to cut it ???

You still need to split it up into sections that fit your laser work area. Without knowing what your design is, it’s hard to give specifics. Here is a video of making a 48" long sign on a 400mm laser bed. He did not add any additional targets like in the video above, rather he uses points in the engraving for targets.
The stuff you’re looking for starts at around 25:00. It’s a long video, but has some good tips regarding this, including failed attempts. You shoild be able to figure it out netween the 2 videos.
