Can you engrave borosilicate glass?
I’ve engraved borosilicate glass, which is used on my 3D printer bed. The printer design requires magnets to be epoxied into place on the underside. I felt I’d get better grip on an engraved surface, and the magnets I had available were too thick by a bit more than a millimeter.
I set an appropriate size circle to fill and gradually increased the power until I could get a good “burn.” I also brushed a water/detergent mixture on the surface, to keep the glass cool (it gets HOT) and to keep the fragmenting glass somewhat under control.
The surface over the 5 or 6 mm diameter circle was more or less a grid with miniscule variations in depth and the epoxy bonded quite well.
Well I have some borosilicate mugs I’m trying to engrave. So I’ll experiment with distance from the head to get a good burn plus the power setting
