Engraving image chopped up when using Rotary

I am just learning how to use my Rotary and the engraving is engraving in slivers but the slivers are mixed up.

The top circle image was created using the D-80 Rotary and is an illustration of the problem. The circle on the bottom was engraved using the cylender correction tool and it appears correct.

Below is the object I am trying to engrave.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Where did you get the steps/rotation?

Mine is 12800. It needs to be the same as the stepper motor driver.

Explain the photos you posted… there are three separate engravings on the mug… The last one looks better

:smile_cat:

The top image is what I am trying to fix. The top image is the problem. It looks like each slice of the image is reversed. It is supposed to be a circle. I had the steps/rotation set to 6400. I did a test and it gives me exactly one rotation.

The Middle image is when I had the steps/rotation set to 12800 and that gave me 2 rotations but it also put gaps between the slices. (Each slice is still backwards)

The bottom image is when I used cylinder correction. The image came out fine.

Something is causing the slices to flip orientation.

Thank you for your help.
