Engraving issue & Alarm 2 error

Hey everyone! I have a K40 that I seldomly use but when I do it’s only to cut out things on 3mm acrylic. I haven’t used my machine in months & have since gotten a new computer, so I uploaded lightburn to it today because I wanted to try to engrave. So here’s my issue; the egg & circle cut perfectly but when it comes to engraving the black parts it will only do one piece then it just stops and I get the Alarm 2 error message shown in my picture. I’ve tried several times and it will cut fine then engrave one spot (not always the same one) then it’s done. I’ve right clicked the device as stated and nothing happens! I’ve never gotten any error/alarm messages in the past but as I’ve said I’ve never tried to engrave before. So I’m unsure if this is a software/user issue, computer issue or somehow it’s a machine issue. I’d greatly appreciate it if anyone could point me to what the cause might be and how I would fix it. Thanks

It’s a user issue
Most likely your speed settings are high for the engraving part and you have overscan enabled. This will make the laser travel more distance than your project will look like (check the preview). Either: turn down the overall speed, reduce the overscan, move the object further into the workspace or use a different start mode and move the workpiece more to the center.

Thank you!! It was absolutely user error. I was able to get the engraving to work by lowering the speed and overscan percentage. I really appreciate the help :slightly_smiling_face:
