I’ve been engraving wine glasses with a CO₂ laser of around 150W and I’m getting good results, but I’d love to know if anyone has tips for achieving a finer, cleaner finish.
Show us your work, then we can see if we are getting better results or if you are. Maybe you can give us some help?
You asked for a 100w laser, now it is a 150w laser. I am pretty sure the answers will not change.
Here is a thread I made for my glass creations this summer:
Some success with glass and diode - Finished Creations - LightBurn Software Forum
That looks pretty good to me. You are not satisfied?
what works for me is i convert it to bitmap 500 dpi then use newsprint with 700 dpi. the speed and power you have to play with it i have a 80 watt co2 speed 400mm and power 15% . since the dpi is high the low power creates micro dots one on top each other. the key is low power just enough. you can play with the dpi , this glass with newsprint 1000dpi. but 500 to 1000dpi dont make to much deferent
Thanks for the idea. I will give it a try.
VERY interesting! Thanks for sharing. I may have to try a high LPI with my diode lasers.
