Engraving within a circle

HI everyone,
I am trying to engrave this picture onto a large piece on Radiatar Pine but can’t work out how to just do what is inside the wheel rim & not the white area outside it.
any help would be appreciated.

1. Create a shape that perfectly encompasses exactly the area that you want shown.
2. Select both the shape and the image
3. Tools->Apply mask to image
