Hello, welcome to the forum!

Error 20 is usually the result of the wrong device type being selected when creating the device profile for your laser. When you created the device profile for your sculpfun s9, which controller did you select? I think you need to change it. Click on devices in your laser window, select the profile you are currently using, then click edit, and make sure it’s set to plain GRBL.

Error 5 should be addressed after the device profile has been corrected: LightBurn sent the command to the controller to home it, but the controller does not have homing enabled or configured. Typically, this occurs when Auto-Home On Startup is enabled in Device Settings for a machine without homing switches. You need to open your device settings and make sure that auto home on startup is disabled.

Please familiarize yourself with the 3 start from positions in LightBurn and how to use them. Since your machine doesn’t have limit switches, you will need to manually home your laser:

In some cases, $32=1 set in the firmware can trigger error 20. Please enter $$ in your console window and report back your machine settings for review.
