Hi Antonio,

Here´s a list of things you can try if you have problems with homing on GRBL:

  1. Set your bed size, if GRBL travels 1.5x the Bed X or Y size, Homing will fail.
  2. Set your Limit switch pulloff distance to 30mm or higher, if it works try going lower and lower.
  3. Set your Steps per mm, if you don’t do it GRBL won’t the distance travelled and it will lead to error described in 1.

Cheers,

Thanks, it worked.

Thank you for your help!

Thanks for the tip!

So it didn’t work? Can’t really follow the converation.

Question, did you add limit/homing switches to your machine? From my understanding the S9 does not come with homing switches.

In that case, you wouldn’t want to run an automated homing cycle. Disable “Auto-home on startup” in Edit->Device Settings.

I’d suggest you manually home by moving the laser head to the front-left of the machine before turning on.

Thank you very much for your interest and response. After doing what you indicate (disable startup) and giving the instruction to go to startup, the error it shows me is the following: “Startup current
error 9 G code locked during alarm or scrolling state. On or near line 0”

There is likely something listed above the error that’s the true cause of the issue. Can you check and copy the output here?

Also, can you run these commands in Console and copy/paste the output:

$I
$$
$#
?

This is a very unfortunate translation.

When starting this engraver, there is a problem with homing.
It seems that there may be a loose screw in one of the belt driving sprockets or that this engraver is not intended to automatically home.

Please follow the instructions from PY (above). Open the Console Window in LightBurn, Scroll back, Select and Copy the Text, and paste it into a reply here.

It will generate reports from the controller that are very helpful for solving this type of problem.
