Error message 1.2.04

I’ve got a Boss 1416 that I’ve been getting the following error message when I go to burn an image on the laser:
Transfer failed-LightBurn 1.2.04
There was a problem sending data to the laser. The machine may be busy or paused.

I am using a USB cable from my computer, the laser continues to run, but it skips about 1/8" of the image in the middle of the burn. The error message pops up in the middle of the computer screen. Anybody have any ideas?

I notice that happens to me if i just leave the rudia controller.
I have to hit reset on the controller and everything works out fine.
