A friend of mine wants me to etch a Christmas greeting on a full bottle of Woodford reserve whiskey. I’ve researched it, and it seems to be doable, but has anyone any experience on this? Everything I’ve read, says you can do it, but you just cannot etch on the seam of the bottle or it will break. I was thinking about using black, tempura paint, or cold galvanizing spray. Any thoughts?
A visible laser won’t work on anything clear. The darker it gets the more chance you have to get it to work.
If possible find something you can test with… That’s one of the issues with many of these…
The indirect method works pretty consistently.
Sorry can’t offer you much help here… Maybe one of the other people that use these has a suggestion…
Hang in there.
Good luck
If you are doing a small area, just paint it with black acrylic craft paint and go for it.
Wash the paint off with warm water and dish soap. (save the label)
Large area should work, dark liquor may have a problem with internal etching’ You don’t want that…
