Etching with flowers (text insert) on plex?

I am to the point where I am going to insert some plex into this O scale door and I want to etch it with floral designs, etc. I have only worked with text in LB, and want to know if these designs are in “wingdings”, etc? IF I go into a symbols font, is there a drop down box where I can see all the designs or do all the characters/designs relate to a keystroke and have to be typed out? I noticed I have to type in a bunch of keystrokes into the text line to even find what I am seeking in wingdings. Is there a better way to do this?

If I have to bring in outside files, what file type should I use to make it scaleable? NOTE: I have done this before with a .png and it actually printed the checkered background.

Any advice would be good. Take a look at my file and you will see a 3 panel door. I want to put plex in the three holes, but I want to etch designs in the 3 flex panels.

Font charts are a quick search away:

Install the font file, find a suitable glyph for your panes, type the corresponding letter, then size the glyph as needed.

That will work better than fiddling with graphic images, because fonts scale without pixelation.

I see from your profile you’re using a Mac mini.

In Windows OS, there’s an app called Character Map that I used quite often. No idea for a Mac but maybe there’s something similar?

Anyway, you select the font you’re interested in and it will show you the glyphs. You can even copy and paste the glyph (character) directly into LightBurn.

Thanks. I will check that out. I was able to find something in Illustrator and paste it in and it worked. I will look at a character map. I will need more in the future.
