Exclude objects

Hi all
I’ve scanned the forum and is still in doubt about my issue.

I will do a keyhanger with room for 27 keys. Each key will have a coaster-like plate with the key number. The plates will look identical with a burnt in number and three burnt in rings. All keyplates uses the same three layers for numbers, rings and cutting. Now, I have created the keyplates but will only be able to run 4 plates at the time due to the size of the work area. I’m looking for a way to exclude keyplate 5-27 when running the first job 1-4. Then run 5-8 while excluding the rest, and so on.
Is there a way to achieve this?
Thx for taking your time

Research the variable text feature, specifically serial numbers. I’m just leaving so I don’t have time to explain in detail. That should do what you want.

Make a fixture for repeatable positioning, use Variable Text to fill in the serial numbers, and you’ll have no troubles:

However, practice on cardboard until you work out the whole process.

Now, to “exclude” shapes for production, I would use the ‘Cut Selected Graphics’ in the lower-left section of the ‘Laser’ tab, then select only those I intend to run, then Preview to ensure things are going to produce as I’d expect.

After successful production, change the selection to the next batch you’d like to product and run the job again with the new selection. Repeat until you have produced all your "keyplates.

Addendum:

If you fixture the keyplates for 4 of them, you will have to adjust for #4 - #8, etc., being the same place in your fixture, but not in Lightburn.

Thank you gents, for taking your time with my issue. Really appreciated.
I’m not sure my needs will be fulfilled with the Variable text feature, but I’ll look into that. However, I was not aware of the Cut selected graphics feature. This will probably do the trick for me.
Thank you all for your inputs :pray:
